Tameka Jones, who grew up in St. Paul’s Rondo neighborhood, was a make-up artist for extra than 20 years when she was furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But that is when she took her future into her personal arms, and her aspiration of launching her individual cosmetics corporation turned a reality. She took all her price savings to make her possess line of lipsticks, named Lip Esteem. And even with the pandemic and folks sporting masks, she uncovered considerably achievements at area pop-up functions that she opened her have store in the Rondo neighborhood on Friday afternoon.
“I want to generate generational wealth for me, and not only for me, but to aid construct the group,” Jones explained.
She grew up in Rondo and saw a flourishing community of Black company homeowners, and she wanted to be portion of the revitalization endeavours occurring in the neighborhood.
